Description
Abundance No. 5 is part of a collection that evolved during the time of COVID where supplies and certain foods became scarce. With gratitude for the time spent alone with my camera in gardens and the food on our table, I began photographing what I had in abundance. Fruits and vegetables paired with botanicals and graffiti became my interpretation of a still life. Simple things became more meaningful, elevated. While the panel is square, the circular inset encourages the viewer to hyper-focus on what’s abundant with a delicate balance between street art and botanicals. Imbued with the colors from graffiti walls, Abundance No. 5 is hand printed and painted in layers with distressed gold leaf. This work brings a rich old world meets new world aesthetic to life and an everlasting wish for abundance.
