Description
Bee Empathetic is a graffiti botanical in the Overgrowth Collection where street art ephemera, botanicals, bees and other garden creatures “grow” over a classic image—signaling the “death” to outdated modalities and social norms. The angel in Bee Empathetic seems to be a contemplative observer of the human condition. There is not “one way” to exist in this world. That we must be empathetic. That it is okay not to be okay. Reinterpreted foundational portrait by American artist Abbott Handerson Thayer (1849-1921). Subject: the artist’s late wife.
