Description
Part of the Zen Garden Collection, Efflorescence No. 2 is all about slowly unfolding, coming into being, flowering. When creating this work, I hoped to evoke feelings of how hushed a garden feels after a rain—moments of Zen when the natural world is quiet. Soft yet vibrant colors, fluid backgrounds and lush, dreamy layers are meant to gently pull the viewer into a Zen garden experience. Butterflies, blooms and street art ephemera are re-imagined. All elements become individual drawings. Colors from decaying graffiti walls become my palette. Imagery is physically burnished into the surface of my substrates in multiple stages intertwined with acrylic, pigment ink and spray paint to form a composed work of art that is uniquely individual blending nature with the urban landscape.
