THE BUTTERFLIES AND BLOOMS COLLECTION is a visual
expression of the joy I feel when shooting butterflies.

A prominent symbol in my work, butterflies represent
resiliency. Yet, they are a gentle reminder of the fragility of life.

I’ve photographed them in nature as well as in captivity. Being surrounded by butterflies in a contained space is pure joy as they playfully encircle you, alight for a moment and flutter away. It’s like a soft kiss from a new love: both mindful and mindless—a truly transformative moment.
